Charming vintage Japanese Kokeshi doll. This is a traditional Naruko-style piece, handcrafted and hand-painted in solid wood. The shape, floral motif and calm expression are typical for this regional style from Japan. Originally, Kokeshi dolls were made as folk toys and small good-luck gifts for children. Today, they are appreciated mainly as decorative objects and collectible examples of Japanese folk art. There are some light age-related stains visible, as shown in the pictures. The item remains in a good, vintage condition.
