The wooden frame retains its original black finish, with areas of original gilt showing through. Although this can appear silvery in certain light, it is in fact worn gold leaf beneath the surface. The mirror still has its original mercury glass and shows natural ageing with patina and some minor scratches. The frame has some plaster and paint chips, as shown in the pictures.
